Markets & Multi-Currency

How to create, edit, and manage Markets — the regions you sell into, each with its own countries and currency.

What this does for you

Markets let you group the countries you sell into together, and attach a
currency to each group. Instead of managing pricing, tax, and reporting on a
country-by-country basis, you define a small number of Markets — for example
"North America" or "Europe" — assign the relevant countries and currency to
each, and then reference that Market when you set up proposals, invoices, and
subscriptions.

Every organization starts with a built-in Default market. Any country you
haven't explicitly placed into a Market automatically falls into Default, so
nothing is ever left unconfigured — it's just sitting in Default until you
move it.

Who can use it

Access is controlled by your organization's role permissions:

  • Viewing the Markets page requires market.view.
  • Creating a market requires market.create.
  • Editing a market requires market.edit.
  • Archiving or reactivating a market requires market.archive.

If you don't have the right permission, the page shows a "You don't have
access to this page" message, and action buttons are disabled with a tooltip
telling you which permission is missing — ask your organization admin for
access.

Where to find it

Go to Catalogue → Markets in the left navigation (/configure/market).

The list page shows:

  • Summary cards — Total MRR, Largest market, Fastest growing, Currencies,
Not launched. These populate once revenue data is flowing through a market.
  • Tabs — All markets is available today; Live, Pilot, and Planned
are coming soon, for filtering markets by rollout stage.
  • Filters for status and creation date, plus a search box for market name
    or currency.
  • A table of every market, with search, sorting, and column
customization available from the table toolbar.

How to use it

Creating a market

  1. Click + Add market. A panel titled Create market opens on the
    right.
  2. Fill in:
    • Market name (required) — must be unique within your organization.
    • Description — optional context for your team.
    • Status — Active or Archived.
    • Country — one or more countries this market covers. A country can
only belong to one market at a time; adding it here moves it out of
      wherever it currently lives.
    • Currency — the billing currency for this market.
  3. Click Create.

The new market appears in the list immediately and becomes selectable
wherever markets are used — plans, pricing, and customer records.

If you start filling out the form and try to close it, you'll be asked to
confirm before your changes are discarded.

Editing a market

Open the row's actions and choose Edit, or open the market and click
+ Edit market on its detail page. Either path reopens the same panel,
titled Edit market, pre-filled with the market's current values. Update
what you need and click Update.

The Default market is the one exception — it has no Edit button, since
it exists purely to catch unmapped countries rather than to be configured
directly.

Viewing a market's details

Click a market's name to open its detail page (/configure/market/:id).
You'll see:

  • Header — market name, status, and date of creation (DOC).
  • Details panel — Market ID (a stable identifier used elsewhere in the
    system), currency, and description.
  • Countries table — every country mapped to this market, with the date
each one was added (DOA) and a Re-Map action per row.

For the Default market, this table shows whatever countries haven't been
claimed by another market yet. If every country has been mapped elsewhere,
it shows a note that unmapped countries will land here automatically,
instead of an empty table.

Re-mapping a country

Use this to move a single country from one market to another without
recreating anything.

  1. On a market's detail page, find the country in the table and click
    Re-Map.
  2. In the dialog — "Select a market to re-map '[country]' from
    '[current market]' to:"
    — choose the target market from the dropdown.
  3. Click Re-Map country.

The country moves immediately: it disappears from the current market's
table and appears in the target market's table with a new date of addition.
Re-mapping does not affect any proposals, invoices, or subscriptions
already created while the country was in its old market.

You can also move multiple countries at once by editing a market's
Country field directly — Re-Map is the faster, single-country path from
the detail view.

Archiving and reactivating a market

Markets aren't deleted — they're archived instead, so historical data tied
to that market (invoices, subscriptions) stays intact.

From the list, click Archive on a market's row to archive it, or
Activate on an archived market to bring it back. You'll be asked to
confirm — "Do you want to archive/activate this market — [market name]?"
— before the status change goes through.

The Default market can't be archived.

Exporting market data

Use the Export button at the top of the list:

  • Current table data — only the columns currently visible, respecting
    any filters you've applied.
  • Full data export — every field, regardless of what's shown on screen.

Tips / things to know

  • A market's name must be unique within your organization.
  • Re-mapping a country moves it immediately and doesn't retroactively affect
records created under its old market.
  • The Default market is where any unmapped country lands — check it
periodically if you expect every active country to have an assigned
    currency.
  • Multi-currency pricing (different prices per currency for a plan or
product), FX conversion rates, and prepaid wallet currency changes are
currently handled by our team on request — this is not yet a self-service
option in the product interface. If you need a plan or product priced
differently across currencies, or a customer's prepaid wallet moved to a
    new currency, contact support.
